AVjW Studio makes independent software for things worth paying attention to.

We build around activities with their own materials, rituals, and ways of thinking — making music, reading comics, working with symbols. Rather than flattening those differences into generic software patterns, each project begins with the particulars of what people are actually trying to do.

The result is a deliberately varied body of work. Riffboard begins with the fleeting musical idea. Longbox with the experience of reading a personal comic collection on a television. Arcanaform with tarot as an ongoing practice of observation and reflection.

Work is where those ideas become products. Notes documents how they are conceived, designed, built, tested, and changed.

Different subjects, different interfaces, different technologies. The common thread is attention — to the material, to the person using it, and to what the software should make possible.
